About Berben Design

I'm Rogier Berben, the founder of Berben Design. I design, make and engrave high quality wooden products in my workshop in Tilburg, the Netherlands. 

As a former musician, I combine my love for music with my passion for working with wood. I like to create products that bring a personal touch to the lives of musicians and music lovers.

How it all started

It all started back in 2014. My first products were made from old drums, which I transformed into clocks, lamps and tables. I initially worked from my father's garage, but the business soon outgrew the space and moved into its own workshop.

Over the years, Berben Design has evolved into a collection of handmade products inspired by music. Today, I design and make everything from wooden accessories and gifts to custom engraved products. Personalization has become an important part of my work, with engraved drumsticks becoming one of Berben Design's most popular products.

My Workshop

Since 2018, my workshop inside a repurposed factory in Tilburg (NL) has been the heart of Berben Design. This is where I design, make, engrave and finish my products by hand.

Over the years, I've expanded the workshop and added new tools and machines, including a laser cutter and CNC milling machine. I'm also proud to be part of Ateliers013, a community of talented creatives sharing this inspiring space.

Innovation & sustainability

I'm always curious about new materials, tools and ways of making things. I like experimenting and looking for ways to make my products as efficiently and sustainably as possible. This can be anything from finding a material that works better for a particular product to finding a smarter way to make it.

I try to source materials as responsibly as possible and keep waste to a minimum. In my workshop, I make use of as much of the material as I can, and even small leftover pieces of wood often find a new purpose.
